March 2, 2026 -- We have blogged before about our Senator Bernie Sanders: Ber-nie!, nurses for Bernie, and heroic senator. Yet again, he is working hard to defend and improve our health care.

Yet again, he leads the charge for better health coverage for all Americans. His latest proposal, named the Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act -- which we endorse wholeheartedly -- includes expanded Medicare coverage of dental, vision and hearing services for older adults.

And, above all, he seeks to "...reverse the Medicaid and ACA changes enacted under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act." The repugs want to reduce state Medicaid budgets, denying coverage to 10 million people. Trump's so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" cuts $1.1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act which is estimated to cause more than 50,000 unnecessary deaths. Hospitals, too -- already financially stressed -- could see sharply increased revenue losses.

Who would pay? The U.S. Senate Committee writes, "...Just 938 billionaires in America who are now worth $8.2 trillion... Elon Musk - worth $833 billion and now wealthier than the bottom 53% of American households combined - would owe $42 billion in taxes, leaving him with approximately $792 billion. Mark Zuckerberg, worth $220 billion, would owe $11 billion. Jeff Bezos, worth $218 billion, would owe approximately $11 billion."

Trump takes away from you and me and gives to billionaires. Bernie gives it back.
